Battersea:
the Big Lunch 2010
On
the 18th of July I read tarot at the Big Lunch event at Battersea High
Street, London. The weather was kind - it rained while we were setting
up, but after that it cleared up and became a beautiful day.
The
tarot reading was a great success - there were people queuing most of
the time, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.! So next time there'll be two of us.
Website
The
events aspect of our medieval fayre work is now called Tarot etc, with
our own website.
Seminars
and Workshops
In
case you're in London this weekend and think you'd like the Explore
Tarot, there's a full day of talks at the
College of Psychic Studies (10am
- 5.30pm 31st July). I'll
be looking at tarot and art; Avril Price istalking about the Journey
of the Fool; Martin Jeffrey will run an interactive workshop to explore
the archetypes in the tarot, and Emily Carding will use her Transparent
Tarot and Oracle together to see howto combine different oracular systems.
Following
on from our successful workshops last year, Hilde Liesens and I are
running our foundation tarot workshop, Journey through the Major
Arcana, on 21st August 2010. Details and flier here.
Art
and Tarot
I'm
reading tarot at the opening of Illumini's
Subterranean London (9th September) and giving a talk on Occult
London (10th September). This is the art exhibition of the
year - light art which allows you to explore the secret labyrinths beneath
the streets of London; the opening extravaganza that features art exhibitions,
tours, stilt walkers, light shows, and traveling back in time with historical
consumed performers.
Medieval
Fayres
As
shown on the left, we've done quite a few events so far this year, Colchester
and Tewkesbury being the most successful. We're often at the mercy of
the weather so Snailwell and Welwyn were too cold and wet to attract
the crowds. Dorset, however, while an excellent show, seemed to clash
with a lot of other events; or perhaps the Dorset folk aren't clued
in yet.
Just
a few more to go now - Fiery Jack's is a new event just past Cardiff,
and at the end of August, Herstmonceux, my favourite event.
There's
also the Edgecote Tournament near Banbury in September - we haven't
done this one before, so I have no idea what it will be like!
